Lei, Lui, Firenze Album Design
For this project, I reinterpreted a traditional Florentine song through the design of a visual album cover, incorporating both the backdrop of Florence and a symbolic, unconventional object.
My design centers on an empty wine glass, representing the absence left behind by two lovers who ultimately part ways. The back cover features a street rubbing taken in Florence — a manhole cover reading “Comune di Firenze” — grounding the piece in the city’s physical and cultural identity.
The record label continues this concept with a minimal outline of the wine glass, carrying the central symbol throughout the album.
I began by capturing an image of the Duomo, ensuring that the dome was fully pictured.
I also pictured a wine glass, which I could export into Photoshop to replace the traditional Duomo dome.
