An uncanny depiction of two whippet dogs. Constructed with the intention of calling into question how humans interpret emotion from animals.

I used a red wash as the background. In hindsight, I would have done a light green wash instead because I found that it was very difficult to work off a red base when aiming for a bright lime green background.

I constructed the dogs in white to set them apart from the darker green background.

I began to add highlights to the dogs and went over them in a green wash to add more cohesion.

I decided to go in with some red to add value to the dogs.

The final product was selected to be displayed in the retail store "August" on State Street for November 2025.
